Orange peel
The term "orange peel" refers to a cosmetic defect that appears on the surface of a vehicle's paint. This defect causes the paint to take on an uneven and wrinkled texture, similar to the peel of an orange.
This effect can be caused by several factors, including incorrect application of paint or protective coating, the use of unsuitable or low-quality products, or problems related to surface preparation before painting. It is an unwanted defect as it negatively affects the aesthetic appearance of the vehicle, making the surface less smooth and reflective.
To correct orange peel, it is often necessary to sand the surface to remove the superficial layers of pitted paint and then carry out correct polishing with polishes such as Scratch Remover (in more serious cases it may be necessary to repaint the surface).
