Beading

The term " beading " refers to the visible effect of water forming small spherical droplets on the surface of paint or other surfaces treated with a protective coating, such as a wax or sealant. This effect is often considered a sign of effective protection and a well-prepared surface.

Beading occurs due to the water-repellent properties of the applied coating, for example waxes and similar. When water comes into contact with a surface treated with a high-quality coating, rather than spreading evenly, it forms distinct droplets that roll off more easily. This effect is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also helps keep the surface cleaner, as the water carries away dirt and contamination as it slides off. Beading is often considered an indicator of the durability of the coating and its ability to protect the paint from elements such as water, acid rain, dirt and oxidation. Many detailing enthusiasts appreciate beading as a visual demonstration of the care and protection of their vehicle.
