RIDS
The term "RIDS" is the acronym for Random Isolated Deep Scratches , i.e. deep scratches caused by contact with hard or abrasive surfaces that are particularly visible on the car body.
These are not just aesthetic imperfections: this type of deep scratches, if not treated correctly, could lead to corrosion of the car's paintwork over time, causing damage that would require the intervention of a professional or a very expert detailer .
Compared to Swirls or other superficial types of scratches that can be treated with polish such as Scratch Remover , this type of scratch must be treated with suitable products such as abrasive pastes such as Rubbing Compound black or Rubbing Compound white which are more aggressive in comparison.
