Two-component

The term "two-component" refers to products or materials that are composed of two distinct components that must be mixed together before use. These products are often used for specific applications that require greater strength or durability. A common example of a two-component product in car detailing is repair putty : in the case of two-component putty you will have the part of the putty to be mixed with the chemical catalyst which will react with the base, generating heat and hardening.

Before application, it is necessary to carefully mix the two components according to the proportions specified by the manufacturer (The Care products with the supplied catalyst are to be mixed at 2/2.5%). Once mixed, the coating must be applied within a limited period of time, before it begins to dry out and harden too much. Two-component products are often chosen for applications where greater chemical or mechanical resistance is needed, such as scratch-resistant or weather-resistant coatings.
